Mountain Lion Cubs Health Improving

Mountain Lion Cubs Health Improving

PASO ROBLES - The two mountain lion cubs who were brought to the Zoo to You in Paso Robles last month, are doing much better.

The pair was found hiding under a car in Burbank.

Katelyn Cottle who works at the Zoo to You says the cubs have already gained a lot of weight, and are warming up to the staff.

Cottle says during the day the cubs are separated so they can form bonds with the staff, but at night are put in the same enclosure to keep each other company.

The Zoo to You doesn't know if the cubs will be able to stay with them once they're done with their rehabilitation, but they hope the cubs will be used as an education tool.

Water Rate Hike Approved for Cayucos Residents

Water Rate Hike Approved for Cayucos Residents

CAYUCOS -- People in one Central Coast community will be paying more for their water.

The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors approved a water rate increase for the southern part of Cayucos to pay for improvements to the water system there.

People who live in this neighborhood south of the cemetery will pay about 17 dollars more each month for water.

The County is going to spend about 2.7 million dollars to improve the water system in the area to ensure better fire fighting capabilities.

Doug Bird with San Luis Obispo County Public Works says, "The reason we are  having the rate increase is because we need additional water storage, and we need to upgrade our pipelines in the ground for fire protection purposes."

Most people who live in the neighborhood support the water system upgrade.
